Just says .41 magnum on one side, Smith & Wesson on the other.

Under the grip it is a round butt. No box.

Stainless steel .41 Magnum N frame with adjustable sights would be a Model 657. With the frame mounted firing pin and MIM components I would guess that this one was fairly recent production, probably within the last 15 years or so. I believe the factory port job would make this one a "Classic Hunter" model.

Someone on the S&W forum told me to look there.

I have to say it has about the slickest double actions I've ever experienced.

The grips look a little funky but they feel great.
Can't wait to shoot it.

Based on the front sight configuration and the thumbpiece, it appears most similar to Product Code 103948, but according to SCSW that model was produced in 1998-99 and the -4 wasn't introduced until 2001. Looking at the various options listed, it appears you've got Product Code 103959, also referred to as "Classic Hunter" - the description in SCSW matches your gun, but there's no photo.

RSR is a national distributor of shooting sports equipment. S&W commonly made (makes?) special runs of various models for distributors - the most common is probably Lew Horton. www.rsrgroup.com
