Alright it appears that now is the time for me to buy ammo even though my funds are a little low. Could you guys please suggest what manufacturer to buy in 9mm and where is the best place to get it. I found American Eagle 9mm for 139/1000 shipped... Is this good stuff. I was going to buy some IMI but they don't have any more at Coles right now. Thanks in advance, Josh

Much as I hate to admit, gun shows are probably your best bet.

If your just looking for "plinking" ammo, reloads go for $95/1000 or even less.

Before you go gathering them up by the 1,000's, run a few single boxes through your firearm. Of the same brand, model, and caliber of gun, some "like" particular brands of ammo better than others.

American Eagle is excellent ammo. It's made by Federal. The best places to buy ammo in bulk is usually large gun shows. However, if you want to buy online, www.ammoman.com has really good prices. I just bought a case of .45 and a case of 9 mm yesturday.

Thumbing through Shotgun news here..

J&G Sales has the Russian steel case for 98.50/1000 but that doesn't include shipping. (Man, that's 9.85 cents a round).
They also have S&B and South African for 119/1000 plus shipping. (www.jgsales.com).

Centerfire systems has S&B for 114.97/1000, I would guess that's without shipping.

Wideners has IMI 9mm 115gr for 139/1000 and that includes shipping. - 423-282-6786

Caflin has S&B 9mm 115 grain for 139.95/1000 that includes shipping. They also have the russian 124 grain for 120/1000 that includes shipping - 618-729-3232

Something I found recently is a 9mm load from PMP (in South Africa) from Century International Arms for 109.00/1000 delivered. Don't know a number right off hand but I will try to find it if someone else doesn't beat me to it. I have used this ammunition before and it's good plinking ammo and it is boxer primed and reloadable. They also have PMP .308 147gr ball for 129.00/1000 delivered but it is boxer primed and not reloadable but bolth loads are non-corrosive.

Does anyone have the number for Century International Arms and has anyone else had experience with PMP. PMP .223 is pretty decent stuff. I would think their 9mm isn't bad? Thanks, Larz

Shows are the best. My brother got 1000 rds of .45 reload (with brass trade in)for a little under 200 dollars and I got 500 rds of .223 for 60 dollars.. We're pretty happy.
