What ammo to hunt with in my K-31?

My aunt and uncle in law have a deer lease in West Texas where they've been kind enough to invite us to go hunting. I've scoped up my K-31 and I'm hoping to dazzle them with a gun that is probably cheaper than theirs, yet probably more accurate.

So, with that said... what should I hunt with? I think Hornady stopped making their soft point 7.5 Swiss. I found some wolf gold sp, would that suffice?

Nothing against the previous posts, but I would go with Norma or Hornady, I think they use better components.

BTSP is a Baot Tail Soft Point bullet.
The SST is a hunting round, if I remember correctly i'ts a jacket hollow point with a polymerc aerodynamic tip on it. The SST's have excellent expansion and are very reliable. SST's are Hornaday bullets. You can buy SST bullets and load them into your casings for your K-31.
Put the K-31 with an SST and a good reloading powder combination, and it will be difficult to produce a more accurate ammo.

Here is a link to Hornaday's website.

It's been reported that shortly before WWI, a German General was in Switzerland reviewing the Swiss troops at the rifle range practicing with their K-31 rifles. He commented to the Swiss general in charge that the Germans had 600,000 troops at their disposal and the Swiss only had 100,000 or so. He asked the Swiss General what he would do if the Germans invaded Switzerland. The Swiss General looked at the German and firmly said ....
"I'd give each man 6 rounds and then after he fired them he'd get to go home."

The Germans never did invade Switzerland after that.
This is an indication of the K-31 accuracy.

So the Swiss had time machines, too? :D

Sooo, I ordered the BTSP. I figured the SP was for soft point, so I went with it. It was all they had at Cabellas online :-(

If its a soft point, it'll work.

FWIW I took my first hog with my K-31. Its essentially the same as a .308 or .30-06.

Having used the Privi Partiz and the wolf gold, both are very accurate in my K31 and are very effective on Missouri whitetail.
