What about this...this CZ75 SA?

I am in the market for my first 9mm pistol and I find the quality and the price of the CZ line to be quite attractive. I was just about to plunk down the loot for a CZ 75B when I saw a catalog listing for a CZ 75 SA; a single action model. I am a BIG fan of single action pistols and I was wondering if anyone on this board has had any experience shooting/owning one of these? Is the SA trigger better than the DA/SA design in some way? BTW, this will be primarily a range/IPSC gun. Please post whatever you may know about this particular pistol.

I've shot a CZ 75 B SA, and its unbelievably accurate. Its simply one of the most accurate pistols out there, regardless of price. The trigger takes some getting use to, I don't care for the shape of it personally. The trigger pull itself is *ok*, but nothing special (its not bad--its just not stellar). Don't expect a match grade trigger out of the box, but a Smith can make it much better. Fit and finish is very good (polymer coating is the standard finish for the SA models), and ergonomics and balance are top notch (outstanding).

These pistols are hard to get in some areas, as demand is greater than supply. I have one friend who owns the 9mm CZ 75B SA, but when I've asked about availability at gun stores most of them around here quote at least a 2 week waiting time. I'll order one eventually myself, I'm just not crazy about waiting so long for one to be found.

I plan to eventually add a 9mm CZ 75B SA to my collection (I also have the following CZ models: CZ 97B and CZ 75B in .40).

I have one and love it. Many of my friends cannot believe how accurate the pistol is, especially for a gun under $400. I agree with CZ_, the action is nothing special. The pull is a bit gritty. I'm nearing 1,000 rounds (without a single jam), and it has smoothed out a little, but I will probably send it to good smith pretty soon. I actually like the shape of the trigger, which is one of the reasons I bought it.

FYI, the CZ site claims the trigger is adjustable for takeup and overtravel, which is inaccurate. The takeup is not adjustable.

I've bought and sold several pisols over the past couple of years, but this one is a keeper. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was hoping that the triggers would be a selling point, being a single action design, and am surprised to read that they are pretty ho-hum in that repect. This is the sort of information I needed.

cheers
