What .45ACP with 4" barrel and 10 rd .mag???

I've narrowed it down to the Walther P99 9mm, the Glock 19 9mm, and the Extreme Duty XD-9 9mm, but I'd prefer a .45ACP.

I can't find one that has about a 4" barrel and comes with 10 rd. mags. Should I stick with the .45ACP? Does anyone have a pic I could see to compare these two calibers? (The bulets themselves.)

Any input on the above choices? I think I want the P99 most of all, I just hope I can find one locally.

HK, USP 45 :D 4.41" barrel, 10 round mags, 12 round LE mags.

If you like the Walther, get that. You'll be happiest w/ what you prefer, not what some yahoo on the internet prefers. The USP is just an option.

There are several .45's that will fit your bill.

Charels Daly DDA .45.
Taurus PT145. (I don't recomend this one, just pointing it out)
Glock 30
Springfield High Capacity Compact.
STI's VIP .45

There are a lot of others... This is just a short list. Okay, well maybe not the STI, it's more spendy... But wait a little while, save up another hunnerd bucks and get the best gun you can afford.

Glock 30

The Glock is it, except for the PT-145, which may be over the frame problems by now.

I have a G-30 for sale myself :)

This summer Springfield will be coming out with the Extreme Duty XD handgun in .45ACP but until then you might look at the Taurus PT-145 (yes I know all about the frame problems), Glock 30, a couple Para Ordnance model and I believe that Springfield has a 1911 model with a 10+1 capacity. Your budget issues would probably dictate used handguns for all but the Taurus option. Good luck and Be Safe.

The more recent Taurus PT-145's are supposed to have a corrected design. I don't know what they did, but the frame is not supposed to crack now. The cost about $350-375. Keep in mind that the PT-145 is faily new and there are not a lot of accessories made for it yet--including holsters. I know that the Triple-K has some generic leather holsters that will mould to the shape of the pistol.

Still, get the Glock 30! I got mine back in November and I think it's the best pistol I've ever shot. It conceals well too. They cost about $530-600+, depending on the type of sights you get. There are plenty of cool accessories, including plenty of holsters. I use a Fobus paddle holster.
