Want to get rid of my micro 1911 and get a 3-4 inch 45 acp revolver.Who makes a good one in that size and what would be a ballpark cost figure?Thanks..

The few and the expensive. NIB would run @ $700.00. S&W mainstream are the runaway models in 45 ACP. The Model of 1917, Model of 1955, Model 25, Model 325, Model 625 and the Model 625 Mountain Gun. 2.5" or 5" barrels are usual form in mostly round or square butts. The M22 TRS is stupid AFA pricing, in excess of $1,000.00. Taurus has their Tracker model in 5". Inexpensive for features given. Ruger has some dual cylinder single actions.

All the new TR22's I've seen sold have been priced from $650~$750...

Unfortunately, the first 300 appear to be gone. We'll have to wait for the next round if you want one.

Yep, mine was just over $700 with tax. Haven't seen one listed at over $750 but as GnR mentioned, they are all gone now. Kart racer, while I prefer S&W you might be able to find a Taurus with the feaures you are looking for?

I paid $630 for this 2.75" 325PD.

S&W has done a run of 4" also.

The stainless 625 4" is a standard catalog item.

Good Luck...

.45 sidearm

Broaden your horizons, get a better gun, and save your money. Plenty of really good vintage New Service Colts and Smiths await you in .45 ACP and .455 Webley. Their cylinders are easily modified for .45 Colt in case you don't find one. You won't need half-moons to make them work. They're not cheap - you can find one anywhere from bargain to bonus. In any event, you get a much better gunfighting weapon out of the .45 Colt than out of the .45 ACP if the gun is to be a revolver. And no other revolver has proven itself equal to the New Service guns, unless you judge movies and journalists as proof.

If it's a mini you're looking for, stick with the garter guns in .32, but if you're going to do your gunfighting with a revolver and no department heads are calling your shots, look at a New Service in .45 Colt.

Look at the Taurus Tracker .45acp.I picked one up used (mint) at a local gun show for only $275. Sweet shooter too.

There is a New Model Blackhawk at a local store with both 45 Colt and 45ACP cylinders. It is blued in NIB condition and is going for $319. I'm considering putting it on layaway. I would probably use it mostly for 45 ACP, but will have the option of using heavy 45 colt loads for hunting. Anyone have advice on this gun?

Seems OK for a new one,but once you buy it you know its used.Even if you don`t shoot it.Don`t you have any gun shows around there you can check out?You can pick one up for less money.

$580 is a good price. www.budsgunshop.com has them for $554, but unless you live in Kan-tuck-ee, you'll have to add $25 shipping and tranfer fees on your end. Almost always better to buy local and support the local gun shops.

Good Luck...

Taurus makes a couple of models, but Smith and Wesson makes the ones of choice. I have a Model 25-2, with a 5" barrel, that I have had for 30 years. I am waiting for paperwork to clear to pick up a 625JM, which is the 4" Model 625, heavy barrel. It is costing about $670. There are also some S&W Performance Center models, but they cost even more.
I also have several Ruger New Model Blackhawks, 5 1/2" barrel, stainless, .45 Colt with .45 ACP cylinders. I am shooting a lot more single action now, double action some, and auto very little. The NMBHs with generic .45 ACP ball are a lot of fun.

If I were getting one, I would go with the 625JM. Smith is coming out with the mountain gun version again of the 25 which would be a consideration.
