I was in the gun shop yesterday and really liked a little Colt .22 pistol that was in the case. I do not know the exact model designation, but is was stainless, had a 4.5" or so barrel, and was semi-auto. I liked the sights and trigger alot and am considering buying it. What are your opinions on this gun? Asking price is about $175 or so.

I used to own one like this http://dd-b.net/RKBA/colt22.html. $175 is a decent price. Accuracy is decent, on mine rear sights would fall off on occasion. It was fairly reliable with hi-vel ammo but required cleaning every 300-500 rounds to go into battery reliably. The mag release is unusually placed so you would need to change habits vs. most other guns.

When I was first in the market for a .22 pistol, I had to decide between the Colt and a Ruger 22/45. I picked the Colt because the grip felt a lot more comfortable than the Ruger. The trigger was really nice and smooth and it was quite accurate. The only reason that I eventually traded it for a Ruger was because the Colt wouldn't reliably feed hollowpoints (CCI Stingers, mostly). The $175 price is pretty decent.
