I am not into the Cowboy Action Shooting, but want a good western style holster and would like some suggestions of companys on the internet that I can order from. There is no businesses anywhere around where I live that have them. I have a colt SAA .45lc and like to carry it when I ride my horse in the woods. I live in North Louisiana. I want one that will last but like everyone in this OBOMA economy my money is close, (used one would be fine) Thank you very much for your help.

Most my leather comes from El Paso Saddlery. It's for using and it gets used nearly every day. My favorite for packin' a sixgun in the field would be a Threepersons or Austin holster on a #2 Texas belt. I've got several for various single actions and double actions, usually prefer strongside. Money is never wasted on custom leather and prices are usually comparable to off the shelf stuff from Bianchi and Galco.

Just stay away from the cheap stuff like Cabela's. When it comes to leather you pretty much get what you pay for and good leather is pricey.

You can take that to the bank. Every now and then you find a bargain gun, or bow, or knife - something that's worth more than you have to pay. Gun leather is one area where those 'bargains' are very, very, very rare. Pay the money for good stuff.

Hunter makes a good line of Single action holsters with a snap over leather strap for around 50 bucks ... just do a google for Hunter holsters .
I use one when I take out on horse back with my Colt single action ....the snap over strap works well .

Try oldtradingpost.com. They have a very large selection of holster for both new and old CB revolvers. I have a combo Buscadero with rightside for my ruger vacaro and crossdraw that fits my Spiller&Burr. Their prices are quite reasonable and the quality is excellent.

I've not seen his work first hand either, but I"ve seen a lot of pictures and I've communicated with him. Seems extremely knowlegeable, and a very pleasant person to deal with. I have a couple of rigs in mind I think I'll have him build for me.

Thoughts on Triple K holsters?

I was curious what everyones thoughts are on the Triple K western holsters. They seem to be pretty well made for their economical price. I picked one up for my Ruger Blackhawk and have been very happy with it.

Great looking El Paso rig-
The carving is beautiful

I am thinking I would like a rig like that which is....modular-

with shotgun, pistol & speed loader slides-

My reasoning is I may want to carry either a

Blackhawk or ROA for use with the pistol loop slides-

I managed to put obtain all five of the Ruger Blackhawk convertibles and
it would be nice to be able to use the same belt and holster with the
different calibers using different size pistol loops.

Uberti Remington 1858 for use extra cylinders in the speed loader slides

Didn't see anything there but the Slim Jim that might be close for the Remington and all they listed was holsters for SAA style guns-
