Western Field Question

I know many manufacturers made shotguns for Montgomery Wards. I am trying to determine who the original manufacturer was and approximately what year the shotgun was made. Not being familiar with shotguns, I was hoping someone might be familiar with the design or style.

Maybe if you were to post a picture, or at least tell us what it
says on the gun???

Welcome to the forum.

Store-Brands in Blue-book

Been a long time since I have had to chase one of these down but, there are references out there that can help you cross this over. One would be the Blue-Book what they call a store brands. You get your model number and cross it over to the original manufacturer. Often times it a Mossberg or Stevens but there are others. .... ;)

Be Safe !!!

No model number

The only markings on the shotgun are the makers marks and the name W. Teasdale.

Interesting. Damascus barrel double, with Birmingham
(English) proof marks from 1813-1904.

It MAY have been sold by Wards---they started up in 1872,
but I have no idea when they started using the Western Field
name on guns.

We need LOTS of pictures to even have a chance at figuring
out the manufacturer, and it might not be possible even then.

At least you have a sort of date---before 1904

More photos

Let me know if you need a photo of a particular area of the shotgun.

Thanks for your help!

You have an English made gun with Damascus barrels. The pad is not original to the gun. It's not a Wards Western Field gun. It's quite nice and it's worth some money, so don't allow anyone to make you think it's a low value gun.
