Western Auto Revelation

Hi,

i have this old shotgun passed down from my dad's collection. I'm trying to figure out what it is.

not too many markings on this one.
receiver says: REVELATION automatic shotgun.
on the barrel: UFC hialeah-florida 6 brescia italy
12ga 2 3/4-26" I.C.-M 2070

there is also some proof/import stamps on the receiver as well.

Hi, my dad gave me a revelation shotgun when i was about 10. i've been looking all over for anything about this gun. I've taken it apart many times and kept it well maintained. Mine looks like it was hand engraved on the side. I am afraid to shoot it because it is so old, but im looking in to having it examined by a gunsmith. I talked to my dad about it, but he said that his dad gave it to him and he doesnt know where it came from. It is in very good condition, and hopefully worth something. It has a 26" barrel and is pretty heavy. It holds approx. 7 rounds. I'm going to keep searching and see if i can find anything. Good luck.

Well, a little searching online turned up that the orig. manufacturer was Mossberg. It is a 500AB. It is worth about $125 - $150 depending on condition. Not much more is out there about this gun except that. You might want to take it to your local gunsmith and have him check it out.
 
yes it does. there is no fancy ingraving, but it looks like it more or less. Did western auto buy shoutguns from savage?

Revlation is a trade name used by Savage for Western Auto. I have the complete disassem on that shotgun if you would like to have them.

I inherited 30+ long guns and pistols from my dad and I'm tryin' to figure out what some of the odd ones are. Plus i need to insure these as well.

it looks alot like an A5 browining knock off, but not as fancy. it's gotta be one or the other. for replacement insurance purposes, if i stick to about $200 i would be safe? sentimental is priceless of course. :)
