and shot several of my guns. Nothing came close to the accuracy of with S&W 4 inch .38 special revolver.

My confidence with this revolver is very high. On the contrary, I can't hit the broad side of a barn with my semi-autos. I am better with a snub nose revolver than most of my semi-autos. Why is this?

Well revolvers are alittle more accurate than autos, maybe the revolver sits better in your hands and the sights on a revolver line up better for you than that of an auto! :)

Last fall I bought a S&W Model 10 4inch HB with a round butt. It is far more accurate than I am. I spent friday at the range shooting a 2inch Model 60, again far more accurate than I am. I guess that's why I have a safe half full of S&W revolvers. I like Semi Auto too, but nothing quite equals my Smith .38s for accuracy.

Most of the time this is just personal preference of the shooter, based on practice, experience, and expectations.

Hardball,

I bet that was a .38 special in 38/44 outdoorsman (not to kid you about your post though). I shoot my Post-War transition model 38/44 outdoorsman quite well also. Great guns!
