Went to the range last night,,,

Went to the range yesterday evening,,,
I felt the need for a bit of rimfire therapy,,,
Bad thing was that trip might cost me some money.

There was a young (to me) lady there,,,
She was practicing her draw from a 4:00 draw holster,,,
She would draw and fire three rapid fire shots, then three, then two.

She was shooting a new model S&W Model 317 Kit gun,,,
Hers had a 3" barrel and fiber optic front sight,,,
I was shooting my Bersa Thunder 22,,,
We swapped guns for a few rounds,,,
Then I noticed her target.

At 7 yards she was cutting a 1" hole,,,
That was much better than I did on my target.

Anyways, that little pistol is a sweetheart of a gun,,,
I never liked the looks of it in pictures,,,
But in actuality it's very sleek,,,
And weighs nothing at all.

If anyone is looking for a small lightweight .22 revolver,,,
I seriously recommend you hold one of these guns,,,
I was very pleased with it's feel and performance.

It beats the .22 LCR hands down for looks, feel, and performance,,,
At least that was my impression of the little shooter.

I'm not rushing out to buy one,,,
I have a nice Model 34 snubbie to practice with,,,
But if I were in the market for a small .22 revolver this would be it.

P.S. She was "meh" on my Bersa. :p

Was this discussion supposed to be about comparing guns, or about a young lady who really knew how to shoot?
A gun's just a gun, but a young lady who can shoot this well is special.
Did you ask if there were any more at home like her?

Hello BarryLee,,,

Just out of curiosity what do you think of the Ruger SP101?

I have yet to get my hands on one of the new models.

Many moons ago when Dinosaurs ruled the earth,,,
I owned one of the old style .22 SP-101's,,,
My ex got that revolver in the divorce,,,
Dang but I miss that little pistol.

I really liked the old style,,,
Heavier then my Model 18 K-22,,,
But it was what all Ruger revolvers are,,,
Solid, rugged, accurate, reliable, and very heavy.

Hello g.willikers & BarryLee,,,

I don't mind a bit of diverging from the original topic.

...but a young lady who can shoot this well is special.

I said "There was a young (to me) lady there,,,"
I would say she was in her late 30's,,,
Annie Oakley soccer mom.

I'm a 60 year old curmudgeon. ;)

There are a lot of ladies in my rifle & pistol club,,,
Many of whom I would not want to get into a gunfight with.

The guns I see them shooting,,,
Range from mouse guns to full size combat pistols.

So?
Some of the ladies like older men.

At least, that is what I've heard. Can't testify from experience, dang it.
:D
