And only had TWO items I was willing to spend money on unless someone was giving away guns for $10 - BHP dressy wood grips, and a certain Case knife I was looking for. Upwards of 100 tables, and NOT ONE set of wood BHP grips - a couple of rubber ones. I did sell a gun for my Dad to a private individual however, so at least I have that going for me. I am seeing less and less pistols and accesories every year at the shows.

I also went to a gunshow today. Sold my GSG-5. Damn near walked out with a beautiful, all matching Swedish Mauser 38........may go back and get it tomorrow if my willpower fails me.:o

went to a Tri state gun show at a fairgrounds and it was ok but mostly all junk for sale, the only thing I saw that raised the eyes was a guy and a his woman who was id say in her late 50's or mid 60's dressed in a skimpy outfit with her big fake boobs pushed way up for all to see LOL me and the wife got a nice laugh and good look at it LOL..

100 tables? Wow, that gun show would almost fit in my garage.
okay, not really, but I have never been to a gun show with fewer than 450-600 6" tables.

The ones I frequent typically run 600-1000 tables. That is where I find the stuff I am looking for.

If you don't have gun shows like that...welcome to the internet. if you are looking for grips, start here:

What is this "gun show" of which you speak? The events we seem to have on rare occasion around here are best described as "Knives, beef jerky, Nazi memorabilia, and a few guns on the side" shows.

Aguila, you and I must be going to the same shows. The guns I see are either from dealers selling old stock (at MSRP or above), or private sellers whose wares are pretty woeful.

However, if I ever need bulk freeze-dried food, lightly-used generators from 1999, or caricature posters of political figures, I know where to go.

If you really want them without wasting time and energy (and paying tax), use your computer.

At this point, I only go to a gun show once every other blue moon to see if something catches my eye, usually a military gun of some sort, or rare ammo.

I go to the gunshow here because it is something to do. I don't care about rodeos or high school football (blasphemy I know) so when the gunshow comes to town I go. I rarely get anything except a couple of new bumperstickers and a new respect for the LGS.

Its the same way here in my part of florida 100 to maybe a big show 200 tables and 40 of those are basicaly looking like a garage sale of quality wanting new price and tons of tshirts. I usualy go and bring a large cup of coffee and stand close to the door to watch people walking in to see what deals i can get from personal sales. It is nice though to be around plenty of gun lovers also.

Like some of you guys, the gun shows around nh don't offer much at all in the way of deals. I mostly go for the fun, there's actually one this weekend in Manchester. It almost seems to me that prices are higher at the shows than in the actual gun shops.

Gun show last spring found me a colt new agent 1911 45 acp for 800.00 otd :) booth down the way had em for 1100.00 :)

last show i bought a garand outside from a widow for 400. i told her it was worth a lot more but she didn't want to wait to sell it. took it home and put it with the 5 others i owned.

Haven t been to a decent show since maybe 1998.We just talk about the surplus heyday, and how venders now must be really proud of their wares, their prices reflect it.

I really enjoy going to gun shows, . . . just a personal aggravation usually spoils it for me.

The operators don't sell enough tables to gun folks, . . . so they open it up to anything and everything else. Went to one a couple months back, . . . there were 6 or 8, 8 foot tables, Taiwan, Pakistan, and Indian stainless steel junk knives.

Another half dozen tables were Indian jewelry, . . . then the T shirts, . . . bumper stickers, . . . aahhhhhhhhhhhhhh !

If they put up a sign outside saying Wallyworld gun show, . . . I'd be a bit more understanding, I guess.

Anyway, . . . just stepped off the orange crate, . . . rant off.

May God bless,
Dwight

Lebanon, home of the Bologna Festival! Man, that's livin'.

I've been to shows from 10 tables to, jeez, how big is the biggest show in the country? The smaller ones -- they think the same junk they haven't sold at the last five years is apparently still made of gold. Bigger is much better but I need so much time. I think I just got through Dallas with one pass and some Rocky Mountain Oysters in four hours. Same with museums.
:(

Went to our local GS tonight. You're spared the 5 buck entry fee on Fridays only, so I go then, tightwad as I am. Very good show, though I bought only a Ruger BX-25 mag for my 10/22.
