Browning Hi Power! Here's the short version:
I went to a show with the wife Saturday morning and the only pistol I really had an intention of buying was a Beretta 92FS. That being said, I do have a "list" of other pistols which I've been looking to buy for quite a while, but the Beretta was 1st.
Long story short, a pawn dealer had a Hi Power in the case which he said he wanted $350 for. He was busy setting up, and not paying attention really, and as I was looking at it I knew it was a steal. I picked it up and here's what I got: Browning Hi Power made in Belgium, fixed sights, one mag, Pachmayr grips, NRA Very Good/95% condition according to one of my friends who fired it today. I'd wanted to get this exact gun for years but I'd put it off because I figured it would cost upwards of $550-600. In fact, similar guns at other tables at the show cost anywhere from $550 to $750! Needless to say, I was very happy with my new purchase. I figured it was fate when the last table I stopped at had three Pachmayr 13 round mags NIB for the gun! In fact, the only downfall on the day was the cheap aftermarket mags I looked at with one of the dealers and they wouldn't even fit in the gun!!! Note to self: never buy cheap mags!
I took it to the range today and the point of aim seems to be about 3" left and 1-2" low with the fixed sights, but consistent. What a fun gun to shoot! It's a good thing I bought all of that ammo at the show.
Granted, my Beretta will be a few months off, but I can always get a Beretta NIB through my local dealer!
What have I gotten myself into with this wonderful pistol?
