Went and got me some toys :)

So, I went down to GT Distributors yesterday after I heard about military pricing on their handguns. I went with the intention of holding a Glock to get a feel for the Gen 4's...
Sometimes I just can't control myself :D

I ended up getting a full-size .45 (I'm new to the Glock terminology),

a sub-compact .40,

and a Ruger LCP .380

I'm new to these calibers and Glock in general but I've been wanting a .45 for quite a while now. I had my eye on an XDM .45 but I liked the discounted pricing.

I've read up on the two Glocks and reviews seem favorable so I'm excited to take them out and put a few rounds through. This weekend can't come fast enough

Okay, 1st 3 attachments not working. But hey that store is like 20 minutes away. So going there. I might also Glock myself. At least get that nice $20 belt (or two of them).

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know about these guys.

Yeah, the store is pretty cool. It's a huge LEO outfitter. Half the dudes in there were either in Police or military uniform. I wish I would've known about their pricing last year since they only offer two Glocks at discounted pricing per year. What belt are you referring to?

I shot a .45 back when my buddy bought one and I fell in love. This Glock has more of a solid feel than what he had (can't remember what it was at the moment).

All great guns. Even one new gun is a great day, three must be wonderful. Once I get a new job I'm going to treat myself to a matching Glock set of 3 (17/19/26 or 22/23/27). I'm super excited about it. So enjoy basking in a bunch of new stuff to play with!

LCP woes....

Be careful with the LCP. It has a drawback that could cost you your life.

If you 'short stroke' the trigger (not let it return completely) between one round and the next, it will drop the hammer from a half cock and not fire the next round without manually racking the slide to the next round - costing you one round and several seconds. Not a good place to be when seconds count.

I had the opportunity to buy one from a friend, used but still NIB, for $175 earlier this year. However, it would have taken me 3 days to get the funds together - which he was willing to wait. And boy was I glad I took a few minutes to check out a few YouTube videos on it before i plunked down my cash during those 3 days. Sure enough, when I checked his it did exactly what the complaint was in the video.... Failed To Fire.

For once, my being broke paid off!

Congrats to the OP - you will enjoy all of them, surely. Have fun and be safe. This definitely gives you "room to upgrade" .... would be a nice way of putting it. And those will all hold their values pretty well, so you'll be in good shape, should you choose to do so.

Awesome scores! Having a few Glocks and an LCP myself, you'll be very pleased. I'm sure the LCP you have is the 2nd gen with improved trigger. Mine has never hiccuped and it's in my pocket daily during the summer heat. I fully trust it.

To the poster that passed on one for $175, I would've kicked myself! They are truly great pocket pistols.

Good job Caruser4!!
