Well, what is the word on the Sig P245?

This pistol has been around for awhile now. Long enough for the "new, gotta have it!" syndrome to wear off. Curious to know how it is performing for those of you who have it. Thanks.

It seems to be a solid SIG pistol. Those who have had one either love it or hate it, but the hate has more to do with grip size than function -- which tends to be standard SIG flawless.

I like the full-size P-220 better, myself, and the difference in size isn't that great. One friend sold his; just didn't like the way it felt. Another acquaintance is very happy with his.)

Dogger, I had some problems with mine. First off, the gun would pull the top round far enough out of the magazine, that you had to actually jerk really hard to get the mag out. So, if you start shooting a mag thru it, plan on shooting the whole mag thru. Second, it put a huge ding in the brass, some brass was almost folded in half. Gun never jammed, and was accurate. Rust was a problem after 2 days of carry. Hope this helps.

Well they aren't jumping off the shelves. what does that tell you?

Love Sigs - P220, P226, P228. But the P245 and P245 just have too short a grip handle on them.

When I shot the P245, it didn't point well and felt like it was going to jump out of my hand. A very tight grip is required for the best control.

For subcompact 45, check out the Glock 30 or even the dubious G36.
I just don't like fighting a gun just to shoot it. There's my 2 cents.

I looked at a P245, P220, and a USPc .45. I ended up with the HK, since the 245 grip was too small. Could have gone either way with the P220.

EricM, how do you like your USPc .45? Has it been reliable? Accurate? Comfortable? How is the perceived recoil? I am thinking about purchasing one myself, so I would like to know what you think. Thanks in advance.

Opie-IN, The first "problem" you describe happens from time to time in a number of firearms, pistols as well as rifles. I don't consider this a problem, merely a minor inconvenience as sometimes the round that is forward will get stripped from the magazine as the weapon is being cleared and fall to the deck.
