So I ordered a Simmons 8 point scope, actually my second one.

I also ordered a pair of vortex rings for a 30mm tube.

Took them out of the box and the rings are too big for the scope and do not fit.

I have scopes on at least 4 other rifles and never had a problem with rings fitting...Have I just gotten lucky all those times?
 
Most scopes take 1" rings, 30mm tubes are usually only seen on the more expensive target scopes. Why did you order 30mm rings for a 1" scope?
 
It was an accident, I didn't realize I was ordering the wrong size.

In all of the scopes I've purchased I've never accidentally ordered rings that didn't fit.
