Well Rounded Shotgun Advice

I am looking for a cheap shotgun that I can use for HD and hunting. I will only have a budget of 350ish. I can buy accessories later.

So far I have seen 870 Express and 870 tactical and from Moss burg the 500 basically same as the Remington.

Should I buy the shotgun with a hunting barrel and get the 18" later or buy the tactical and later on by the longer barrel.

If I buy a tactical (18-20") shotgun will I be able to buy the longer barrels and shot slugs/buckshot depending on barrel or are the tactical shotguns only made for short barrels.

Buds gun shop is tough to beat for prices, never ordered personally but have heard nothing but good reviews and the prices are unmatched

I would go with the 870 Express Mag. You can get one in your price range. Get the regular barrel for it. either a 26 or 28 inch. You can then use it for hunting. You can't shoot slugs out of it but you can shoot buckshot out of it. Then add a rifled barrel later for it. Someone mentioned Bud's I have never ordered from there either but a good friend of mine has. He said they were great to deal with. He got his 870 Express Super Mag from them and then went back and got a slug barrel for it.

I also have a Mossberg 500 but I like my 870 a lot better. Mine are both older models. I was out looking when my friend got his and the Mossberg doesn't seen to be made even as good as the older ones. I would aslo go with the synthetic. Both are going cheap on the wood, again Mossberg is worse.
