well oiled trigger finger?

I have been shooting a GP100 and I notice a small welt/blister forming on my trigger finger after about 150 rounds of 38+P each time I go to the range. My typical groups run at about three inches at 5-7 yards shooting double action.
I have checked the trigger for any rough surfaces and found none. My thought is that this must be my skin 'sticking' to the trigger surface and dragging against it as I row the trigger back and forth. It struck me that a small dab of grease might reduce the blisters by letting my finger slide up and down the trigger face as the contact angle changes; and at the same time, tighten up my groups.
I know this sounds pretty wild and I would like your feedback.

My buddy's GP does the same thing to my finger. I also assumed it is because of the size of my hands and fingers. Anyway, I'd opt for shooting gloves if I were you.

Unlike various Smith & Wesson's, I do not think that there is/are wider triggers available for the GP 100. On my S&W's, if they did not come with a .400 trigger, I have added a wider one to reduce the felt double action pull. And yes, I know that some experienced double-action shooters prefer a narrower trigger for double-action. But for me, it seems to significantly reduce the double-action pull and I am satisfied with the result of changing to a wider trigger.
Also, my double-action Smiths are extensively worked-over to lighten double-action besides wider trigger. For me, lighter is always better (easier to shoot accurately).

Here is your problem - every Ruger has a trigger with sharp corners where the face meets the edge and it is just as sharp as the second it came off of the mill. Ruger leaves their parts like this to save costs. Look at a S&W or Colt trigger and you'll see the difference. If the corners of the trigger are radiused smoothed and polished it won't chew up your finger anymore. Most smiths will do this for not very much or if you can tear it down yourself you can do it. Don't try to do it with the trigger in the gun. You can use a small dowel wrapped in sandpaper or a cylindrical stone. I have had to do this with every Ruger I own. I take all of the sharp edges down and polish the trigger with 1500 grit paper. In the meantime wrap a couple of layers of tape around your finger if you plan to do a lot of DA work.

Glocks and a Taurus 100 hurt my finger. The tip of the trigger pinches it against the trigger guard. It appears to happen when the guns recoil. I shoot a Beretta 92FS and no problem with it. Never had a problem with S&W revolvers and they are what I shoot most and mainly Double action. Even some Ruger .22 pistols bite me on the last round, on the Rugers it it when they have a heavy trigger pull but not on all guns. I smoothed the end of the trigger on the Taurus and had the pull lightened and the problem went away. I haven't shot enough With a Ruger d/a so I don't know if it would bite me or not.

Order twelve yards of river gravel and have it dumped at the end of the drive way. Use a shovel and the wheel barrow to "refresh" all the gravel landscaping on the property.

Cowboy up and you won't notice the Ruger.

You just need more trigger time. Your finger will eventually toughen up or callous.

Jgl, actually I have been doing that very thing with crushed limestone. Have shredded several pairs of work gloves. AAArrggghhh! I still think it's dumb to leave sharp machined corners on a metal part that you're going to be sliding your finger over repeatedly though. Any gun parts that chew up my hands get fixed.

Guns are built for the generic shooter who puts 50 or less rounds down range each year, I shape or smooth triggers or other parts on nearly every gun I buy. When I was stuck carrying a Glock I reshaped the trigger guard to where it fit my finger. I took most of the finger groves off of the grip. If it's your gun make it fit you. You likely need to feel where this trigger doesn't fit and round or polish it out.
