Yep, Iraq is making us LESS safe in this so-called "war on terror", not more safe. If you'll recall, Iraq is the prez's centerpiece in this so-called war:

And no, this isn't the ravings of Nancy Pelosi or Ted Kennedy....the source is the united states intelligence community!!!

Go Shrub go! It's the perfect plan. Get the war-rallying effort behind him. Then actually do stuff to make us LESS safe. This results in more attacks. Which in turn results in the polls favoring his party, about which the public thinks is the best at making us safe (ironically). But it results in more power, and more excuse to curb civil rights, and keep budgets big. Perfect way to make an end run around the Repubs being the traditional party of low taxes. Way to have your cake and eat it, too, big boy...that Rove is a friggin' genius (to ALL of our detriments). Big smoke and mirrors game going on, it would seem.

This is not really gun-related, so I'm fine with shutting this down, if deemed appropriate, but other threads on geo-politics & war seem to always survive, so......
 
You're right, we should have just surrendered. :D

OTOH, the intelligence community doesn't have a real good track record when it comes to predictions.

Just exactly how is this news? Human nature guarantees it will happen. It was predicted before the war. It was pointed out during the war that jihadis were streaming into Iraq to get a piece of the infadel. Now all of a sudden the press gets wind of a report we're all a-twitter.

Slow news weekend.
 
Well, since these are the same people who didn't see the Chinese intervention in Korea, despite a division sized attack a month prior, didn't see the wall falling, the invasion of Kuwait, didn't see the 9-11 attack and themselves said that they Iraqis were involved in international terrorism. I don't put much faith in what they have to say anymore.
 
It is my opinion that the whole thing can be laid off on Peanuts, if he had given the Iranians 15 minutes to get out of the Embassy or have every building in Teheran, not an Embassy of some country, leveled in the next 3 days, and then done it, Iran would be back in the 700s for real and most of the terrorists would be begging for alms on street corners.
There is a time to do something and there is a time to waffle, wriggle and squirm, that time is not when being invaded. The opportunity was missed and it is now too late, it appears the options now are to kill all muslims or have the muslims kill everyone else.:barf:
