For the last few month I have only noticed 3-4 new threads per day in the Semi-auto forum concearning the 10mm. Seems dead to me

Heck, there are 4 open 10mm threads in the semi-auto forum right now, just on the first page. Lack of demand my a$$.

LOL.

I bought a new G29 last month. And my G20 is just as fun to shoot as ever. 10mm isn't dead at my house! :D

So, the 2000 once-fired cases I bought are collector items?
Get your rare 10mm cases here, folks! Only 25 cents each! Harken back to an era when 40 caliber bullets flew at high velocity! Step right up . . .

Deceased 10mm...huh?

I guess I messed up by just sending off(via my local FFL holder) for the VEERRY nice 1066 S&W I managed to track down.

For shame on me... throwing good money away on such a thing!

If only the gun/ammo makers would visit TFL, maybe they would see just how many folks agree with J. Parker.

I should probly stop shooting my pair of 20's since they are going to be collectors items too....or I could just go to the range with half a case of Silvertips and have a blast.

"***maybe they would see just how many folks agree with J. Parker ...,"

... which isn't going to be too many, unless they do a focus-group study on professional 10mm-haters. C'mon, quit the moaning.

The 10mm platforms are already out there: Glocks, 1911s, the Smith 10XX series (just ask Nrvquit), and the Smith 610. You just have to really want one.

The only one I'd hesitate to buy at this point, as Nrvquit's experience indicated, is the Witnesses - mostly because EAA seems to be a pain in the ass to deal with, unlike say, Glock, whose customer service record is outstanding. Also, on the 2 occasions I called Smith for something, they were very helpful.

Right now I'm keeping my eye on Dan Wesson and their 1911 Pointman Major. A 10mm version is supposed to be released sometime this year.

Wow, yet another 10mm pistol in circulation, for which it's owners will be purchasing still more 10mm ammo.

I can see it now. All the little 10mm-haters pulling at their hair and wringing their little hands. Some will be frothing: "But it's dead I tell ya! Dead! It's a DEAD ROUND! Please, gimme a wooden stake! It's still not dead!"

Poor things. :D

That's NVRQUIT!

Agtman,

Thanks for the mention! Let's not forget the truly MASSIVE Star MegaStar in 10mm, too! Next best thing to a Desert Eagle in size... can you say crew-served handgun?!?

In any event, the one I'd really like to see is a CZ97B in a 4" or 4.25" barrel and maybe a slightly shorter grip, but still 10 rounds. Don't know if it is possible or that it will ever happen but, I can dream....

Then, we can get S&W to bring back the 10XX series and finally produce that 1016 that they only proto'd and didn't release!!! Oh, I was dreaming again....

D#m, who woke me up?

For the record, I ment the how many people agree with J. Parker on the notion of wanting an alternative to Glock, Witness and Smith. Personaly, I already have all of them, So I want something new. Do you think 9mm fans would be content with just a beretta, Glock and SIG, if those were the only handguns made in that caliber.

"come on manufacturers market a 10mm I want!"
This is what I was refering to when I ment there are many people who agree with Parker

{ :rolleyes: generaly denotes sarcasm}

In the context of what's available, what's missing? Actually, we've talked about this already, but I'm curious about what J.Parker is particularly after, because I bet that I want one too. I just can't remember what was mentioned before.

Please elucidate, that we may know your desire, and communicate it to the appropriate manufacturer with a smorgasboard of vociferous e-mailings.

(Man, wotta sentence. Someone tell that guy to use english like regular people, ok? Sheesh. ;))

Hey, maybe Taurus will make a 10mm Millennium!

Seriously, I'm surprised Ruger hasn't made a P-series version for the 10mm. I wonder why.

Seems to me the 10mm is going the way of the 41 Magnum. Few guns are currently being manufactured for the round. The 10mm is a great cartridge, especially for the handloader, much like the 41 Magnum. 10mm devotees are few, but have a loud voice, just like the followers or the 41 Magnum. Two great cartridges, forgotten by the masses.
