Well, I *meant* to get a Glock 36...

...but then this used Smith crossed my path. It's a Model 4513TSW, the 1998 run without that godawful accessory rail bolted to the dust shield. It holds 6+1 rounds, like the G36, and it's slightly slimmer by a millimeter, the slide being exactly an inch in width.

Anybody own one of these? What kind of ammo does yours like?

I had my eye on one of those a while back. They are sweet tools. Very easy to fall in love with. You still have to get a Glock though to keep it company.

lendringser,
Nice looking pistol. Have you shot it yet? If not, give us some
feedback when you do.:)

Well, it's not a Glock 30 :) , but I have always (and I seem to be in sparse company here) liked S&W semi-auto's. "NOT SIGMA'S!!" . My 5904 was an excellent gun, never a problem or bobble. Sold it for a CZ-75 (and never looked back). I would not pick that gun over my G-30, but I wouldn't mind having one either. What did you pay for it?

I have the medium Brother ofthat One....

I love my S&W 4567, it is very controllable and the trigger pull is good. Only thing I dislike on mine is that the fixed sights are 4" low at 25 yds.

Got to find a new front sight for it..... but waiting to buy a whole new set for it, going to try and put a set of Heinie Straight Eight's on it.

I paid $550 for it, which is not bad considering the MSRP and book value of a 4513TSW.

The trigger pull is exceptionally good, easily one of the best DA pulls I've ever felt on any semi-auto.

Lendringser:

If you had bought that Glock, you wouldn't have to ask "What kind of ammo does yours like?"

Hey, I haven't shot it yet, and this is only my second *&* auto. My first one was a 411, which never failed to feed or eject anything I chose to put through it. I am hoping that this one will be equally reliable, but it can't hurt to check whether there's a bullet style to avoid with this particular model. I know that a Glock will feed everything out of the box, I just lack long-time experience with more than one specimen of *&* auto.

dawg23,

If you had bought that Glock, you wouldn't have to ask "What kind of ammo does yours like?"

You know, I'd swear that every Glock I've owned has grouped better with some loads and bullet weights than others.

Tamara:

You know, I'd SWEAR that every S*** & Wesson semi-auto I've ever shot would only RELIABLY feed certain types of ammo.

I would also SWEAR that I never found any of my Glocks to be that finicky.

Stay safe,
Dawg23

dawg, and I , Sir, would swear that every S&W semi (NON-SIGMA!) I have shot was 100% reliable with anything, not always very accurate tho (most were, my 5904 was right on).:)

I just traded an identical weapon away...
I paid $500 for mine used, but as new.
I owed it for about a week before trading it in on an AR-10A4.
The 4513 I had shot 10 inches low and 3 to the left from a rest a 15 yards.
The pistol also would only reliably feed FMJ cartridges, I tried 3 diffrent premium HP cartridges all to no efffect, It DID NOT like them.

Utterly and Totaly disappointed a traded the thing away.. *sniff*
....I wish I hadn't gone and bought those Houge grips for it now.
That little pistol felt so good in the hand though....

SWs

As long as you're hapy with it then you made the right decision. :D SW's alloy frames need special care to prevent ugly grey stains from appearing on them. If you're going to use it a lot then make sure to give a light coat of CLP once in a while.

I recently got me a 4003 TSW, and I love it. NIB. It has got to be the tightest built prod. gun I have ever owned. Shoots great too. I have not had any feeding problems orr malfuntions yet.
