weird mosin nagant firing pin gauge

Just picked up my 2nd mosin and the firing pin gauge it came with only has one big notch in it instead of the 4. Whats the deal with this one?

Never heard of such a thing...there actually should be four notches- the two outer ones just slide over the rim of the boltface with the inner two used for measuring clearance.

I got one of those too with my M91/30. I don't understand how to use it, so I used my dial caliper to measure the firing pin before I shot the rifle.

Ill post a pic tonight after work. I have a gauge from my other mosin but ive never seen one like this before. Yea sorry i meant 4.

That's gotta be some homemade somethin or other...
No way to even use such a gauge, it won't slide over the rim of the boltface.

There's plenty of the real deal online, get one...it's important to be able to check the FP protrusion.

Its not homemade, i guarantee you that. I already have a gauge, i just wanna know what it actually is
