Week of Temporary Insanity rectified - Mountain Gun blues

Several days ago I had an insane moment and did a horrble thing. I traded my 629 Mountain Gun in on a J-frame 442 Centennial.

Before you throw up from laughing, I'll say that I had (and still do) and EXTREME need for a lightweight, quality pocket-size gun. The 442 is fantastic so far. I am carrying much more than I was my Glock 23 (which is my first love ;)) because of the weight and concealability.

The other day I was sitting at work and really started thinking about it. I missed my Mountain Gun! Not to mention I still had the holster and 4 boxes of .44 Special and Magnum ammo, as well as speed loaders. I called the gun shop in desperation, clinging to the slim hope that he still had it...

HE DID!

I told him I was the guy who traded it, missed it, and wanted it back. He took it out of the case, I went by after work and had her back in my arms, promising never again to leave her in unfamiliar company. :D

My dealer even knocked off some money, and if one does the math, I came out on top! Now I have my Airweight, and Mountain Gun both! My wallet is a little lighter, but my wife understands my illness. And the kicker is, this was all within a week of my daughter's birth. All this good fortune in a week. All is very well...

Been there, done that, though they usually don't have the weapons still on the shelf :( You learned a valuable lesson -- never, ever sell a handgun or rifle unless absolutely necessary. They cost too much to buy, you get little in trade, then you end up buying it again later! :D Good choice on the 442, though. A 642 is what's in my pocket most every day of the year, including today (though I plan on showing my future brother-in-law a Colt Combat Commander and a snub nose Model 19. I guess he's taken an interest in shooting!)

Unless you're about to starve...

..or someone you love is about to starve, never, ever sell a firearm. It'll come back to haunt you in your dreams. You'll see it peeking around the corners of buildings. Always, ALWAYS...just out of reach. Your demeanor will change. Your comportment will turn to sh##! People will hate the new you! Thus ends the lesson.
