Week ended up OK after all...got a P32

Well, had a crappy week, went to the range to make it allright, and saw a P32 just sittin' there with my name all over it. I was gonna pick one up anyway sooner or later, but this was a nice way to brighten up a crappy week. Cost $249 so I spent all my beer money for the month though :(
Only had time to put 50 rounds through it - Winchester Ball - no jams whatsoever (Straight out of the box without a cleaning).
Fired about 4 inches low and to the left until I realized it was my not used to the DAO trigger.
UNBELIEVEABLE how light it is with 7+1!
I'm happy with it so far, we'll see how it works out in the long run.

I think he is talking about the Kel Tec P32, getting one would brighten up any week. There are to be no more in CA after this year, so better stock up on them.

You should head to the Kel Tec Owner's Group (KTOG), www.ktog.org

I wrote the P-32 review from "jazz@buffalomusic.org"

Jack Fusilier used to nickel plate the slide and finish up the interfaces on these guns for almost free -- I think $10 or $15 postage included. Nickel is really tough and a nice finish for a carry gun.

These are really neat deep cover rigs!

I absolutely love my P-32. Sure, it's not the BFG 9000 elephant gun or anything like that, but it makes a great carry piece when the weather or clothing dictates a gun the size of a small ID holder. Mine has yet to jam, andI've put a good variety of rounds though it (no UMC, though). Mine has the hard chrome finish, and it seems to be extremely durable.

My only complaint is that it's a .32. Mabye with some +P rounds (if there are such a thing) I'd be happier, but hopefully in the future "Kill-Tec" will wrap a gun like this around the .380. However, the .32ACP is worlds above a 22LR, 22WMR, or .25ACP, which lots of people carry for backups.

It makes a great primary gun in the summertime when I can't wear anything but shorts and a t-shirt, and it'll make an even better backup in the spring, winther and fall months when I go back to wearing my Glock 19 concealed.

Look at www.geocities.com/goldenloki for info on how to "fluff and buff" your P-32 to make it LOTS smoother. It will cycle smoother and faster once you do this, which takes about 30 min. I did it to my gun even before I fired a shot through it. Oleg and Will will probably interject some sage advice too concerning your new little spitwad. The next thing you know we'll have a "Brothers of the P-32" forum on here, the way people rave about them. :-)

Big Al is right about the reliability and hard chrome finish. I'm really pleased with my chrome P-32. From the first time I took it to the range and through several types of ammo, my P-32 hasn't had any malfunctions. None! (And I didn't even do the "fluff and buff") I like Hydra-Shoks and Gold Dots and I can carry my P-32 with either.

Maxinquaye: For $20.00 Kel-Tec will exchange your blue slide for a hard chrome model. (The chrome isn't shiny, it looks like brushed stainless steel.) It looks good and you don't have to worry so much about rust. It's hot in Kentucky and non-stainless pocket knives rust in my pocket in about a week. This is why I went for the chrome. Marty, at Kel-Tec told me that he put a hard chrome slide, a parkerized slide, and a blue slide in a bucket of water for a week. The blue and parkerized slides were rusted badly, but the hard chrome slide was fine. I also got a pretty nice pocket holster from M/D Enterprises for about $35.00. It has the "rough" side of the leather out, plus a leather hook on the bottom. The pistol comes out smoothly.
Good luck. I hope yours is as good as mine. Almost everybody I talk to is pleased with the P-32.

Mendacity is the system we live in.

I bought one last weekend on my way through Billings, Mt. for $251.94. I've only had the opportunity to put 50 rounds through it so far (PMC) and had one failure to extract and one failure to feed, caused by the rim of the top round being behind the round beneath it. Mine put all 50 rounds in about a 5" group at 30 feet with the center being about an inch right and four inches low. Out of about a half dozen P-32's I've heard of, only 2 shot to the right (mine included) and all but one shot low. All in all, I think it's going to be a good little carry gun.

Mine shoots a bit low, too. Point shooting it is the way. The slide on mine cracked a week or so ago so I sent it back to Kel-tec. Wanted to get a chromed slide anyway, though blued has not rusted any. Interestingly, P32 with a cracked slide still functioned more of less correctly. P32 is not perfect but IMO it is way better than any alternative in its category.

I, too, have just bought a P32 and am sending the slide back for the hardchrome swap. Kel Tec uses Accurate Plating and Weaponry in Florida for the hardchroming. I have two pistols hardchromed by them; a custom Makarov and a S&W custom shorty 45 type coversion that I had Novaks perform on a Smith 457. The plating jobs are better than anything I have seen on any factory gun. Both of these guns have gotten wet and have had sweat all over them for hours, but I don't have a mark on either hardchromed pistol after many, many hours of carry. I simply wipe them off with a silicon gun and reel cloth. I don't think you can beat AP&W for plating.

SG12 is right. Get that slide, barrel, and assembly pin hard chromed for $20. I pulled mine out from the Robert Hedley back pocket leather holster and there was sweat on my P-32.

Get a case of FN surplus .32 ACP ammo for $75 while they still have some and you'll have ammo for a good long time. When mine runs out, I'll probably start reloading for the little bugger!

Congrats!
