OK. I came across one of these and grabbed it. Where can I find the moon clips for 45 ACP? I am planning on using Winchester WinClean ammunition in 230 gr form. Any experience with these antique cannons?
Don't use +P, it's usually recommended to stay on the mild factory stuff or reload relatively light for it in deference to the steel & design. The British service load was heavy bulletwise, but it wasn't hot.
Once when I was young & stupid I sold one modified for ACP.
Once when I was young & even stupider I sold an unmodified bird's-head.
I did get much older & slightly wiser, but YOU'RE STILL A DIRTY DOG!

The moon clips (3 round half moon clips really) for Smith and Wesson revolvers will fit. I loaded some rounds for mine using lead bullets and mild loads. The .455 Webley was rated at 12,000cup IIRC.
It is a nice and evenly blued. There is a ring around the cylinder. It was a fluke. I went to a gunshow to dump a poor feeding Rossi 94 lever action. A guy met me at the front entrance and wanted to look at the "deer" rifle. We swapped. He was reaching for his wallet when I said I owed him money. He said he was satisfied. He then told me that "45 Colts don't fit that gun". He walked off. I went to the car. My luck could not hold out.
LOL I told you I HAVE been bumping into deals lately. I might buy a lottery ticket. The strange thing about this Webley is that the barrel bore was filthy. A spider had taken up residence. The front sight will need a new screw, the brass one has been crushed together.
