Weaver Super Slam

Bought a Weaver Super Slam from Natchez yesterday. Its 2X10X50 with the EBX reticle and going to be mounted in a DNZ mount. Its going on the 7mm08project rifle. I've wanted to try one of the newer Weavers for a while and got the scope at a price that I figured wouldn't hurt too much if it wasn't what I wanted.

Anyone else have one of these that can share some insight?

The only Weaver I'm using is the Midway 3-10X40 Grand Slam Tactical. So far I've been impressed with the optics and repeatability of the adjusments. I wouldn't hesitate to try another Weaver if the price was right.

I can't tell you about the accuracy of the reticle subtensions as I've only shot at know ranges so far. I would like to take it somewhere I could use the Mil-Dots to range a target and see how well I do at it. For right now the longest range I've used it at is 300 yards on an 8" gong.

Weaver scopes are made in Japan and are of good quality.
I recently purchased a Nitrex 6-20 (presumed to be the same as the Grand Slam line), and my only beef is the limited adjustment of 30 moa- that's REALLY tight.

I like the glass, but am changing out the rail from a zero to 20 moa down to try to get the rifle out past 600 yards to 1000, but I don't know yet if it'll make it.

Other than that, I think it was a sold buy on sale, but I think there are better values at regular price (like Vortex).

Its 2X10X50 with the EBX reticle

I have the exact same scope but it is a Nitrex by Weaver TR2. It has great glass and is very well built. Mine is mounted on a 20" RRA Predator Pursuit upper. I have only gone out to 300 yards with mine but I'm more than happy with it.

I put a 3-15x50 on one of my AR's.I don't need the high magnification for the 458 Socom, but I wanted to see if the scope could handle the punishment that it will receive on that rifle. It has very good glass, decent tracking, and I really like the turret system that Weaver put on the Super Slams.
So far,the scope has performed flawlessly, and it's nice not having to take a spotting scope to the range while I'm doing load development with this caliber.

I'd buy another Super Slam, they don't have near the glass of my Sightron SIII scopes or my other higher end glass, but they are a decent scope.

I don't have the Super Slam, but I have a Classic V on my Winchester Model 70 and it's an outstanding optic for the low price. I zeroed it three years ago and haven't needed to touch it since.

Got the 2X10X50 Super Slam yesterday. First impressions were that it was a bit clunky looking. The eyepeice is pretty big. Looking through it, the glass is great though. Clear as can be in the fading light. Took it outside at dusk and it gather light about like the 4200's do. Windage and Elevation are pull up turrents with each being resettable to zero with easy to read numbers. The stadia in the reticle is pretty fine which gives me concerne for those late shots but I do like the windage and distance stadia points, just going to have to figure out where they fit in with my pet 7mm08 load.

I got a little gunsmithing to do to the rifle to make the extended magazing work before I mount it and shoot it but I think its going to be a pretty good scope. That DNZ Reaper mount is solid as can be. Ready to get it all together and Cerakoted.
