Weaver Scopes Any Good????

I just purchased a Savage 10-FP .308 Tactical rifle, and I'm on somewhat of a budget (<$250) for a new scope. I came across a Weaver V-16 4.5-16x42 for $219, and I'm wondering if this will be a dependable/decent quality scope? Anyone care to comment on their experiences with Weaver scopes whether favorable or unfavorable?

Ideally, I'd like a scope with mil-dot reticle (the weaver only has duplex). Are there other quality scopes less than $250 that would have the power (16x) and a mil-dot reticle or some sort of range finding capability?

Thanks.

Nate..

I've used Weavers on .30-'06s, and there's never been any problem due to recoil. The sharpness has been comparable. I've never had a problem with a change in point of impact with change in Power.

Features are up to the user...
