weaver scope

So I had an old weaver v series 3x9 on a .30-06 that was fogging so I called weaver optics. They told me to send them the scope and a check for $15 to handle return shipping and they would repair it. About 3 weeks later I recieved a brand new replacement scope. It's the newer model 40/44 3x9x40mm. I'm pretty happy that they decided to replace my well used scope with a new one. I mounted it to the rifle and bore sighted it tonight, and while checking it out it looks pretty decent. It's sharp clear and bright with no distortion around the edges. The optical quality is better than the old one and the old one had decent glass. I have to say that my hats off to weaver.

That is outstanding. I am curious, are Weavers still made in the US? I bought a Leupold 2-7 at a garage sale a few years ago for $5.00 because it was like looking through a layer of milk. I sent it to Leupold and they replaced it as well with a brand new scope without question. I did not know that weaver had the same honor in their warranty but it is good to hear.

Weavers have been made in Japan for about 20 years now. I believe they're produced by a company called Light Optics Works, which has a pretty good reputation.

I have three Weavers and am very pleased with all of them.

I like Weaver scopes, they were a standard around here when I was a youth and they were still made in El Paso, Texas. However, I've got a Japanese Weaver on my .30-06, a K6, and I think that it is just exactly the right optic for that rifle.
