Weaver Scope

Hi: I recently found this vintage Weaver K-1 scope, it is one made in EL PASO TX, and has the letter (A) on it, the unususal part is it doesn't have traditional crosshairs. It has a small circle inside a larger circle below the larger circle at 6 o'clock is a short horizontal line. Is any one familiar with this?
Someone else suggested a shotgun scope, I do remember reading some where that Jack O'Connor used a K-1 for bird hunting?

Custom reticles were all the rage in the late 60's - but many weren't properly refilled with gas (nitrogen, IIRC) and sealed to prevent fogging in less than perfect weather.

What you're describing is another attempt of the times, for a trajectory compensating reticle - but one where the holdover would leave the long distance target visable ILO covered by the main reticle's lower vertical post/wire.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
