weaver rail torque rating?

Color me a tad dubious. Five foot-pounds is what Remington said I should use on the screws holding the base plate to the receiver on my 700 Ti. Those are a lot bigger than scope-base screws.

I dunno. Been using the old "calibrated wrist" for a bunch of decades, myself. I go to "very snug" and then add "just a smidgen". So far, so good.

Correct torque is determined by screw diameter, thread pitch and material used, lubed or unlubed.

I like Art's "calibrated wrist" approach myself.
