Weaver Microdot on a handgun?

hello all,
I'm thinking of getting a handgun that has the option of mounting a red dot. has anyone mounted the Weaver Microdot on a handgun before? did it change the way the gun balanced? did it improve sight picture and acquisition?
 
I've had lots of handguns with lots to different optics.
They all change the feel and balance to some degree.

Most will greatly improve your accuracy and usually the red dots are quicker to get on target.

I've never had the Weaver Micro Dot but it should work fine on a variety of guns.
 
My sister had a bad experience with the weaver micro dot mounted on a ruger 22/45. The windage adjustment did not adjust. The screw turned, but there was no actual movement of the dot side to side. Elevation adjust worked fine. She ended up getting a Burris fast fire.
