weaver Mdl 440

Trying to find a photo of a Weaver Model 440 rifle scope, plus possible value. Its mounted on a Williams mount Pat. Nov 6/1912. Anyone know the possible production date of the 440. This is attached to a Remington mdl 141 in 35rem. with a 3000 serial number. Is there a Remington sight where I can search for the birthdate of the serial nimber?

The only information I found was in a 1942 SHOOTERS BIBLE, the model 330 and 440 were almost identical, the 440 being 4 power and about 3/4" longer and a longer eye relief. The model 330 sells on EBAY for anywhere up to $270.00, they list them as Sniper Scopes.

PAHOGHUNTER: Thanks for the info. Intersting to know the scope dates from the mid 40's. That gives me a better idea how old the rifle might be too.
