Weaver Marksman 4X Rifle Scope

I would like your opinion, I just purchase a used Marlin 25MN,(22 Magnum rifle). I want to use this rifle for feral rodents, coyotes, and such. I am here in the northwoods of Wisconsin and want to get more control on the varmints that are reducing my ruffle grouse, rabbit and songbird population. I can purchase a used, good condition Weaver Marksman 4X Steel USA Rifle Scope for $30.00 with rings. The scope has fine cross hairs. I would be luck to see shots over 125 yard, way to many trees up here. What is the history of this scope and how good is it?

I have one sitting in my safe downstairs. Thet were sold as a cheap alternative and for cheap gun/scope combos. I took mine off my 22 rifle because it has terrible parallax problems. Most of them were poor at best, awful at times. If you want a cheap scope, there are some very good cheap scopes available on the market,
