Weaver bases?

Are weaver aluminum bases any good for a .308?

I've used Weaver--or "Weaver-style"--bases, both steel and aluminum, on .30-'06s for fifty years. Never a problem.

Thanks, needed a boost of confidence. Do you suggest using locktite on the screws? Or will they stay attached without it?

I've been just too lazy to dig out the LocTite. While I've never had a mount "shoot loose", I'd call using LocTite a good idea; it sure can't hurt. Apply just a wee drop with the end of a toothpick. Insurance is always good.
