I had one built back in the late 80's long before
the factories thought about building them. The beast
weighed 30 lbs with a good brake so recoil was not bad but the muzz blast was mean. I'm looking at my reloading notes from that rifle, 99.5 gr of IMR 4350 behind a Nos 150BT ran
3780 fps. Great 1000yard gun but at the time brass was a pain and case life was very short. I had the 34" wiseman cut to 29" and chambered for the 300 win-mag. As to the new factory guns go I've seen a few for sale used/new but have not shot any, me thinks the hunter weight rifle will be
fine for the few game shots taken but a pain on the range.
