I have a HK USP 45 ACP Compact that works fine but I noticed the polymer wearing away from the frame rails where they contact the slide. I don't think they had alot of polymer on them to begin with, but I don't remember them being bare either when it was new. I don't know if this polymer layer on the rails was intentional (to not have metal-to-metal contact), or it was just a flashing effect from the molding of the polymer frame around the metal parts.
I've shot about 300 round through it, cleaning and lubricating it initially, and then about every 150 rounds. I also followed their instructions to use a light coating of oil on the slide rails rather than a gun grease.
Does this sound like excessive or incorrect wear? I thought I'd ask here before contacting HK.
Thanks.
