Those of us who are for the 2nd Amendment, we can win this fight for gun rights once and for all if we all agree to fight for the 2A without compromise and if we all just work together.
Sadly we have allowed our 2A rights to be trod upon which if you ask me is unacceptable. Our 2A rights have been chipped away bit by bit as we allow more and more compromise. I used to be a fan of the NRA but no more as they are way too compromising and way to wishy washy for me. I've heard of gun control being described as a ratchet that keeps turning in the direction away from what our forefathers had in mind when they ratified the BOR and that it never turns back, sometimes it slows down or even stops but it never turns back. I disagree, at least I disagree about it not being able to turn back, I believe we can turn it back but we all have to be in this together.
We need to realize what the purpose of the BOR is, the BOR does not grant rights, rather it identifies rights, it identifies rights that are natural, rights that are God given which means they're rights that are granted by God or by a higher power, whatever you might believe in. A power that precedes the government and that is higher up than the government. As such the government cannot take such rights away, the government did not grant such rights and thus the government cannot take them away. This of course includes the 2A but its not limited to that, however the 2A is the foundation that all the other rights stand on.
So I really do think we can win once and for all, but we all have to be in this together.
