wcc 64 What is it?

This is a cartridge produced by winchester in 1964. It was produced for the military thus no headstamp. If a handgun cartridge it should either be a 45acp or 38 special.

Winchester Cartridge Company 1964 to be more specific. Caliber and type should be apparent, and were marked on the boxes. As was mentioned, that was the military markings on most rounds, just maker and year, and "match" if applicable.

Thanks. It appears to be a 45.

I forgot to post that it also says "Match" on the cartridge. They look to be longer than the 45acp.

That is very good brass. I used to pay a premium for "match" brass. I actually have some dated 51. On the match brass tolerances are held tighter and the brass is slightly thinner to allow obturation at lower pressures. Good stuff.

WCC actually stands for Western Cartridge Company, which at that time was part of the Winchester division of the Olin Mathieson company.
