Watching "The District" ... BS

I thought this would be an interesting police story. What tripe. All this "star" does is rant - "anyone can walk into a (Virginia) gun show, buy a gun, and walk out" among other rather not quite true "facts".

Any one else with an opinion of this new series???

I got P.O.d watching the BS on the show, my wife did not now why I was ticked. I told her that if you were buying from a legit dealer you filled out the same paperwork you did in store passed same checks.
She asked if you could do private sales for non dealers and when I said yes, her reply was all you had to do was buy from 50 people and you had what you needed.
I could not get her to understand the dificulty of finding that many handguns to buy from private individuals and not end up with the PD following you around and checking you.

Last night was the first time I've watched it and it will be the last that I put up with that BS!

And all that from Craig T. Nelson, an anti-establishment, pot smoking A**hole!

Boy was that BAR in nice shape or what? :D

FWIW, I did sort of like the twist in the story, that it was the poor little rich kid that was the instrument of his own undoing. Haven't really made up my mind about this show yet. Sort of liked the first episode, (obviously) not that crazy about last night's. OTOH, it seems just about every program has to have their mandatory "anti-" episode...

So, guns cause crime, right? And all the crime in DC and NYC is caused by all these illegal guns being smuggled into the city from, um, is it still Virginia or are they down to North Carolina yet? Anyway, could someone please explain to me then, why, if Virginia is knee-deep in guns that are sold in every vending machine, isn't Virginia a cesspit of street violence whose crime statistics make those of DC look like Vatican City's?

Riddle me that...

It's crap. I didn't watch last night. Went out and bought "Ronin" instead and alternated--watch Ronin awhile, prime cases, watch Ronin awhile, charge cases, watch Ronin awhile, seat and crimp, watch Ronin, sleep.
(Don't worry, I never did both at once.)

It's not even a good police story with anti-gun messages thrown in--it's terribly written, terribly acted, crap. West Wing is a much bigger threat than this garbage. People will tune into West Wing for the acting and writing and happen to hear anti-gun messages. No one will tune into the District for the acting and writing.

"The District" is a textbook example of the ultra-liberal media, entertainment industry, and politicians operating in concert. Obviously, it is very inaccurate and biased. However, the problem is some well-meaning (but foolish) individuals will watch this program, presume its assertions are factual, and then base their further anti-firearms positions on "The District's" outright deceit.

Yeah it bug'd me last night with all the Anti-Gun Crap!!!

Quote from last night: "What do people need with a gun like that? What kind of WAR are they fighting in their minds?"

They made several cracks at Gun Ownership. Like we are all a bunch of Psycho's or something.

I did not bother to watch the show. I assummed that a police show set in DC would be totally anti-gun. I guess I was right
