From what I have read on www.bladeforums.com over the last year, and other forums and NG's before that. Knives are as forbidden in the UK as guns. OZ is still topping the list of outlandish bans though with the possible 14 year sentence for felony slingshot. :(
 
Feinstein and Boxer have wanted to ban things like the Confederate Air Force, reinactment groups and yes, edged weapons. Don't think they are looking at knives and swords etc.
