The new Taurus lightweight 357magnum has an aluminum frame, titanium cylinder and barrel and weighs 16 ounces.
How about some enlightened opinions about aluminum frames and the 357magnum cartridge. I always heard it was too much for aluminum.
I would love to have one as an ankle gun. :D:D
Here is the link to the gun on their site.

Thanks PreserveFreedom,
I even recall reading that thread. I think I am getting senile. :o

Well whichever one of us gets one first, lets tell the other how it works out. :D

remember...aluminum forgings are quite strong. Most aircraft have quite a few aluminum forging, including the landing gear area (but not the gear itself).

I have the 85 Multi alloy (alloy frame, titanium barrel shroud and cylinder). I'll grant you...more for carry then a lot of shooting.

I carry pocket...but this would be an excellent choice for ankle carry.

Oh don't worry. If y'all think I talk a lot now, wait until I can afford another gun. (It's been about a year.) I'll be sure every detail is known about it. ;)
