Im new to this site, but I love the format and precious information
Regarding ALL firearms, my friends only in the Great USA!

I wanted to give some info on the WASR and more specific
My experiance in purchasing one! My background, I am a design
Mechanical Engineering manager. I research and design stuff
Not only for the Military, but consumer products as well....

Ok, so I want something cheap (inexpensive) that is most reliable
And shoots a cheap round for the situation we are facing
Here in America, ... but hey, thats off track.....

Do not buy a WASR 10-63 without having at least (3) to look at,
Everyone (5) I looked at, straight out of the box was different, substantially!

The one I purchased is perfect, straight up ugly but perfect mechanically!
I was going to change the furniture, but after taking it to work and watching
The AR guys drool, I added a leather sling, and I may add a side mount scope, but this damn thing feels like your wallet slipping into your back pocket, I just love it for what it is!

Now the secret? Make sure you get one with a triangle with an arrow pointing up that preceeds the serial number on the trunion, these are demilled straight up Mill spec carbines! Awesome.

Price paid? $500.00. Some say thats hi, I think its possibe that this is the best 500 bucks I ever spent!

God Bless America and each and everyone of you patriots, I will stand proudly next to any and all of you!

Ive had three WASR's, I overpaid for all three of them. But forget what other people say about the price or the quality if youre happy with it, then you really didnt overpay. The thing is they are excellent rifles, ive put THOUSANDS of rounds through one of them and never once had a problem. NOT ONCE. The only thing ive done was upgrade all of them with a TAPCO G2 trigger. Great rifle, fun to shoot and they will eat any ammo you throw at it without a hiccup.

price of firearms is regional just like almost anything in the USA

Should I tell somebody in CA that they are paying too much for gas because I can get it 20 cents cheaper per gallon on the other side of the country?

Weird. All the 10|63's I've seen are pretty much the same thing.
Mine has been awesome. The 10|63's have a chromed barrel too.

Yeah, price seems steep. Go the Saiga route for less and you can get a genuine Russian beauty that beats the **** out of the WASR bunch. My Russian 5.45 is noticeably better than the Romanian x39 I got.
