I went to the sporting goods store on Saturday to have an ejector pin repaired on my 4" Model 27 when I saw something shiny in the used case. A 3 1/2" barreled model 27 in nickel and in excellent condition. It has the pinned and recessed barrel. Checkered top strap and barrel rib, red insert front ramp sight and white outlined rear sights. Serrated front and back strap, Smooth Walnut target grips. Serrated semi-target trigger. What really impressed me was the serial number: N56XXX, which puts it around 1971 or ’72. Was putting a deposit down on it a smart idea?
