No I'm not wearing my tinfoil hat nor do I have a lightbulb in my mouth.
Just saw that Gore is demanding and getting a hand recount in the heavily Democrat counties of Broward, Dade and Palm Beach as well as Volusia county. I noticed that during the first recount, many more ballots for Gore appeared than for Bush. That seems suspicious in itself.
Reporters said that this recount is allowed under Florida law and in fact is common in close local elections. However, there is no independent supervision and I'm not sure how safe the procedure is when the parties involved know that the outcome depends on just a few votes either way.
The talking heads are still yammering on about 19 thousand some-odd votes... yada yada yada. I heard that this number was misleading because most of those ballots were voided and new ones issued. Therefore, the majority of those people did vote. If so, why are they repeating this misleading statistic
over and over?
Seems like the Democrats are one step ahead in which way to go next. The Republicans have now filed suit to stop the recount but from the reporters, the grounds for stopping the recount are not strong and may not even be legal. It's almost like Gore suckered the other side into going into court first - thereby appearing to pit the courts against the voters. Then during the recount, lo and behold, enough votes willbe found for Al and suddenly he'll be the Pres. I heard in passing that Dade County (Miami)had over
90% turnout. That number cannot be correct. How could 90+% of the population of that large an area get out and vote? Hell, it doesn't seem that 90+% of that large an area would even be in town or have gotten absentee ballots so they could vote. Seems impossible to me. Did anyone else hear that number quoted? I got it from Fox News during the Britt Hume evening news program. Didn't seem important at the time, but it sure does now.
Something seems very suspicious about the whole thing and the way it's playing out. I'm watching what the press says very carefully to see if the "gravitas" pattern repeats itself in any of the coverage.
Somehow, I don't feel that the majority of the media are capable of much in the way of independent thought and are too often willing dupes of the left.
I "dunno", what do the rest of you think?
Remember, just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean that they're not out to get you
