they have on consignmnet a WWII Walther P308 for $400.

It was reblued and had an emblem inletted in the grips [both sides[.

No impport mars, like the Gander mtn., imports of a couple years age, the stampings are sharp but some fading from the polishing/ bluing

Go for it or not???.

The grips can easily be replaced but a reblue regulates it to shooter grade. If you want to shoot one and feel the price is ok do it, personally I would continue to look for an unmolested piece.

Re-blue or not, that is still a very good price for a wartime P38, assuming most parts are matching and the condition is good. Not sure what is going on with those grips.

Even good condition dip blued Russian capture P38s are creeping past the $600-700 mark, provided they are in good condition. Good condition original bakelite grips alone are worth well over $100.
