I know Glock,Springfield,Taurus, and HiPoint warranty for life even if you buy it used[on paper Glock says 1 yr, but I'm told they back it up for life].Who else does this?[What's o.k. to buy in a pawn shop?]
What about fine weapons like Berette,Bersa, or CZ that only give a year?

Springfields warranty is only for the original owner. I have heard of them honoring it for second owners, but the papers definitely say original owner.

Ruger dosen't have any warranty.............but everybody I have known with a issue still got it fixed for free under thier non-existent warranty, looks like they stand by thier products.

I have had wonderful experience with S&W standing behind anything they make. I've never had to send a gun into Glock. Kimber's service was UTTERLY HORRIBLE and Dennis at Kimber has been known for his terrible customer service demeanor.

Keltec warrants their pistols for life and stands behind it. I just sent back a P32 that I have had for 10 years and they told me it would be repaired without cost. But I do have to wait about 2 months for the repair. Over the years I have returned 2 other pistols to them and they were repaired without charge.

A week ago I also had to return a Model 41 to S&W. They said they would be in touch with me regarding the cost of the repair. After they receive payment there would be a 4-6 week wait for the repair.

The only guns that I have had to send for warranty repairs were a KelTec and Taurus. Both companies were great,Taurus especially so.The damage to the Taurus was my fault and I asked them to repair it and send me a bill. They still fixed it at no charge.Great customer service in my book.

Bersa will warranty for the original owner only.

Pawn shop buys will leave you with sole ownership and responsibility for repairs.

The word "warranty" comes with a lot of legal baggage in most states and many countries. The best companies build durable guns and stand behind their products, "warranty" or not.

free legal advice...

Beretta-USA and Taurus USA have printed & online reg services for product warranties/service agreements. I'd make a copy or 2 of the signed forms before you mail them, ;).
Id save the sales records/FFL information too. It never hurts to keep forms & records.

As the old saying goes; "if it's not written down, then it didn't happen".

I've never had any formal issues with my firearms, but my good friend had a used Taurus 66 revolver replaced with a brand new .357 magnum stainless revolver free of charge.

Buying guns based on warrantees is a good way to end up with junk guns.

Some of the worst out there offer the best warrantees Olympic Arms, Kel-Tec, etc.

I'll buy a good gun with no warrantee any day of the week.

Ruger has about best non-warranty. They don't ask any questions. Doesn't matter when you purchased.....they just take care of the problem.

I also had first class service from S&W.

What good is a life time warranty if you get terrible service??

Taurus has a lifetime warranty covering multiple owners.

CZ, last I looked, was 5 years.

Keltec warrants their pistols for life and stands behind it.

For the original purchaser.
