That must be a record I know, I was at a local sand pit today and a couple guys were trying out their 22's with the Aguila HYPER VELOCITY load. Here is the by my own eyes report, If I had a camera I'd have taken pictures.

1. A 15 year old 10/22 that had the bolt blown backwards and jammed into the action shearing off the stop. Oddly the rim of the wedged case was also split.

2. A Marlin model 60 with broken and bent springs.

3. A still functioning, but bent action rod, Remington 597.

This HYPER VELOCITY stuff may be cool, but beware you use it at your own risk. The guy with the Model 60 fired 100 rounds of it through a bolt action 880SQ without a problem. If you really want that kind of velocity I'd suggest staying with a bolt action or stepping up to a magnum. my .02 cents!

I thought I'd seen it all, until a 22WMR spun a bunny 2 1/4 times in the air!

Doc; you really know how to make an ol fart's ears flap. I just recently picked up a CASE ( 500 ) of Aguila short 12ga slug rounds. Interestipating indeed.

Wonder if they stuck one in the tubes or were just bloody hot.

If I had just seen the 10/22 I would say stuck in the tube, but all three, gotta be the ammo.
As for the short 12 ga. I have run several boxes through my Mossy 500 with the bird shot, flawless function, and 14 of them jokers would be a force to be reckoned with.

I ka-boomed a Taurus PT-22 with about 3 rounds of the stuff. It split the slide at the end where it goes under the tip up barrel. If it'll blow up a 10/22 I dont think I'll be buying anymore of the stuff. The little Taurus had digested about 100 rounds of CCI mini mags with no problems. Taurus repaired it (replaced the slide) but sent a note saying not to shoot hi or super vel rounds in it. They did give me a free trigger lock in the deal though. :p

I, too, just picked up a box of 500 of these rounds. I was going to shoot them in my Ruger MkII slabside, which is supposed to like high velocity rounds. You guys got me wondering now.

I stick with the name brands for my ammo, this is just one more example why. :) I normally shoot target stuff in my .22's, since I'd interested in sub-MOA accuracy from my guns.

Okay, I'll bite. I can't help but ask the question. If you're shooting defective rounds that blow up your gun, how come you proceed through three guns?

I'll give them benefit of the doubt. Gun #1, they're standing they're shaking their heads. "Darned defective shootin' iron!" they groan. "I'll use my good gun." Then they go off to shoot the next one, blowing it up too.

But, how come they go on to the third gun. Oxygen deprivation at birth? Their mothers dropped them on their melons as babies? Crack? Offspring of first cousins?

Lemme guess. They we're dressed in cammo, right?

Egads, it's enough to make me join HCI.
