WARNING: hardcore, heavy-metal constitution ahead!

We have a new contender for the title of "most intense pro-RKBA lawyer alive": Peter Mancus of Sebatopol, (Sonoma County), California.

This guy is...wild :). And not real happy with his PD Chief or city council, one of the only two local governments in the US dominated by the Green party.

The linked document is his serious warning to local officials that he's ready to sue and sue big.

It's an absolute must-read:

You know, when I first talked to him many months ago, I thought he was "too far out there".

Then I read both Halbrook and Amar.

Nope...ol' Pete is dead-on.

You know, last night's US Supremes decision said something interesting: that if a fundamental right such as the vote is being handled under radically different standards across a state, there's an equal protection violation in progress.

Well guess what? The newly freed slaves recieved a constitutional guarantee on the RKBA (via the 14th) *before* they got the right to vote a few years later.

So if various California counties have radically different CCW issuance standards (and trust me, they DO) then per this recent decision, there's a problem IF we can convince a judge that the RKBA was a fundamental right passed to the states via the 14th.

Hmmm...
