Warm weather CCW - (shorts & T-shirt)

I'm in the Phoenix area and it's hot a good 7 months of the year, and warm the other 5.

I dress casual, jeans or khaki shorts & T-shirts year-round, untucked.

Plan to carry a .38 snub or SP101 soon. Pocket holster and paddle holster look interesting, but I'm new to carrying, so I'm open to suggestions. Thanks a lot.

Oh you want a drop leg then for sure. They look great with a speedo on.

seriously, i am thinking with a snub a clip on at the small of the back may be ok....not sure.

I have an AZ CCW. My wife and I we’re in Scottsdale for a few days at the end of August. I wore my 5” 1911 strong side with a Galco Concealable Belt Holster, and a double mag carrier on my left.

I wore shorts and a T-shirt. You could not tell I was packin’.

However I need to qualify this a bit. I’m 6’4” and weigh about 235lbs. I like to ware oversized T-shirts, preferably XXXL. I think this has a lot to do with my ability to conceal with just shorts and T-shirt.

.

Some like them and some don't, but I love my SmartCarry. I carry a sig p229. I regularly wear gym shorts and a t-shirt. No one has ever been able to tell if I am carrying or not.

Some people find them uncomfortable, but I have never had a problem and I am very active. I actually played football with it on the other night. Once you figure out exactly how to carry it, it is great.

If you want pocket carry to be a real option, a comfortable option, get a snub that weighs 15 ozs or less and has a shrouded or bobbed hammer (e.g., S&W 642 or 340), and put wood boot grips on it (ahrends, spegel, hogue boot grip; anything small and smooth). If you want to carry under an untucked t-shirt, get a holster that holds it in tight to your body--a pancake holster or maybe a JIT slide like Don Hume's. Paddle holsters are convenient, but typically stick the gun out a bit further, hence print more.
